WebThe State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP) is a federally funded state program that has been providing free, local, one-on-one health insurance counseling and educational outreach to people on Medicare and their families since 1990. SHIP counselors are committed, trained volunteers. WebSHIP counselors serve each of West Virginia’s 55 counties and are located at local County Aging Providers and the state’s four Aging and Disability Resource Centers. Additionally, Medicare Call Center staff are located at the West Virginia Bureau of Senior Services’ state office in Charleston.
