Cannot ping default gateway on cisco switch
WebAug 22, 2016 · The machines connected to it can ping the default gateway (192.168.0.1 - a tp-link router), successfully receive a dhcp lease from said router, and can connect to the internet, but on the local lan nothing works. (can't connect to printer connetced directly to router or other computers connected directly to the router. Any advice? WebRouter g0/0 is 172.16.10.1 and switch 1 VLAN 1 IP is 192.168.10.17 I cannot ping between the two. I can even do a sh cdp neighbor detail on both devices and it will show the other device and IP address. Why can't I ping? Default gateway set on switch to 172.16.10.1 Vlan 1 is up.

WebSep 19, 2024 · What I don't see in the running-config is the "ip routing" enabled which would explain why it is not routing to the default gateway but I entered the command and tried setting "ip default-gateway 10.75.245.180" to point to my router but nothing. I have my nic set properly to 10.1.2.2 with default gateway to 10.1.2.1 pointing to the vlan. WebFeb 18, 2010 · Okay then they are in the same subnet. By the way because the 2960 is a L2 switch it doesn't matter what you configure the vlan interface on the switch as in terms of vlan or IP address. 1) can you confirm that the computers in the same vlan ie. the ports they are connected into are in the same vlan.
WebApr 28, 2011 · If you have a ping check running to this switch, make sure that the SVI (interface Vlan###) configuration is still good. If by 'had the wrong VLAN on it ' you mean the Vlan interface ip address was bad, you will need to update the ip address for the pings that are going to the switch. WebFeb 19, 2016 · It may not make a difference but I have seen it not work many times with that. For your Nexus switches can you pick one of the SVIs on the Nexus and shut the other down, then -. int vlan . management. ip route 0.0.0.0/0 vlan . don't put the default route in the management VRF.

Also share show ip route output if possible. Make sure, vlan1 is up by issuing "show ip interface br" and in "show ip route" you should see default route on both switches.
